In the last eleven years,we have celebrated eid with hundreds of families. Our delectable delights free from artficial flavours,preservatives and enriched with the best of real butter, fine natural vanilla,quality chocolates and baked with love!

Every Ramdhaan we give the SMD delights to familes to celebrate and grace their eid menu. Celebrating eid in joy,dhikr and with delicious treats.
Due to the pandemic this year,eid might be low key but surely it will still be enjoyed with our family!

A rich mix of spices and herbs,for making broth and stock which is then used for cooking efo riro, egusi, Mia kuka, ogbono, edikaikong stews, jollof and more. It is also great for stew,sauces and marinades… This is your healthy go to everyday addition that is free from MSG and all artificial additives!

Uses and Descriptions

All our spice mix are free from MSG and all artificial additives, including artificial preservatives, flavours and colours!

Each of the mix has between 11 to 20 combination of different spices and herbs that has been carefully studied and selected to give perfect taste finishing!

Store in their jars away from heat. Do not put wet spoons in the jars, and always close tightly after use.

How To Make Chilli Pancake – SMD Coconut & Chili Pancake Recipe

We yorubas are funny people you know? We just like a little chili in almost everything (we are hot like that #fanningself)…⁣
⁣
So in the spur of the moment I decided to make coconut milk pancakes (I love coconut milk…) and yes i decided to add chili to my pancakes… Even hubby who isn’t exactly a fan asked for second helping with this my part Yoruba pancakes #winks!⁣
⁣

SMD Coconut & Chili Pancake Recipe.⁣
⁣

INGREDIENTS⁣
⁣
1. Flour 3 cups.⁣
2. Eggs 2.⁣
3. Melted Butter 2 tablespoons.⁣
4. Chili powder 1/2 -1 tsp(I used half as i just wanted slight flavour.).⁣
5. Coconut milk 2 & 1/2 – 3 cups.⁣
6. Baking powder 2 teaspoon.⁣
7. Baking soda 1 teaspoon.⁣
8. Salt 1 teaspoon.⁣
9.Vinegar 3 tablespoons.⁣
10. Sugar 3 tablespoons.⁣
11. Honey and butter to serve.⁣
⁣
METHOD⁣
⁣
> Sieve flour, baking powder,and baking soda together.⁣
⁣
> Add chili powder,salt and sugar to the dry ingredients.⁣
⁣
> Add vinegar to coconut milk and leave for about 5 minutes.⁣

> Melt butter,break and whisk eggs and add all to milk.⁣
⁣
> Mix all wet ingredients together,then make a well in the middle of the dry ingredients. ⁣
⁣
> Pour in the wet ingredients, whisk gently to break lumps.⁣
⁣
> Allowed batter to rest for 5 minutes.⁣
⁣
> Add a little butter to the pan on medium heat, using a cup pour batter in the pan(batter should be a little runny.).⁣
⁣
> Once bubble forms on top of pancakes, flip to the other side and allow to brown(check bottom of pancake to be sure it’s done).⁣
⁣
> Repeat till batter is used up.⁣
⁣
> Keep stacking pancakes on top of one another, to keep them warm.⁣
⁣
> Serve with a dollop of butter and honey (i use @opefarms honey)drizzle.⁣
You may also serve with something savoury in between the pancakes and role them up.⁣
Enjoy them warm.⁣

Important Notice With The SMD Spice Mix

Due to the present heat, its very important your spice mix jar is stored in a very cool place, preferably cold refrigerator!

Do not store in cupboards or anywhere close to heat source especially not near your cooking stove please!

The SMD spice mic is free from all artificial additives, including preservatives.

There is likelihood for your mix to grow weavils because of the heat, just as beans grow weavils.

Do not fear if it does, it only shows that the heat is too much and just like beans, you could sieve and pick them out.
